The Balayage Summit

“The Balayage Summit” was a huge success and we can’t thank the 130+ attendees enough for joining in this vision!  This was a 2 day hands on balayage and blonding summit where we taught all the latest balayage and blonding techniques, in partnership with The American Board of Certified Haircolorists .

This summit was lead by Amber O’Hara Co-founder of the business of Balayage , Board Certified colorist (and Newly appointed ABCH board member) , founder of House of collaboration and salon owner of Gold and Braid , Mission Viejo, CA.

We were lucky enough to have Brenda Amal  MC the event and share all her wisdom on the science behind bleaches, the how and why they work. Brenda is ABCH certified (also newly appointed ABCH board member) and a test evaluator for ABCH. Along with her many other talents she is a salon owner, VP of education for coastline enterprises and co-founder of KoLAB education. If that’s not enough she’s also the co-creator (for over 16 years now) of the incredible Color Freaks, an in depth class that covers the chemistry of hair and haircolor.

We were joined by our team of lead collaborators from all over the US. Including lead collaborator Anny VanDriel, she began her career began at age 17 and her love of the industry is still going strong 23 years later. She spent two years working as a national educator for The Business of Balayage, developing a keen understanding of sectioning, placement and movement to achieve the most natural looking dimension in hair color. Anny now owns Be Rosie salon I’m Claremont , CA.

Along with lead collaborator Katie Tellor.  Opening her salon Abstrakt Studio in Frisco, TX, Katie Tellor became an educator for numerous different extension and balayage brands and is now launching her new curriculums through Abstrakt Academy. Realizing the importance of not only initial training, but continuous ongoing education, is one of the things that sets Katie apart.

We were so thrilled to learn from Lead collaborator and Balayage Artist Cynthia Valdez. Cynthia started her career in the mid 90’s in Dallas, Texas. While she has been a key contributor in opening several salons in her career, her newest venture, Blush at Bishop Arts has become a successful education hub.

We found Audrey Inskeep’s Reverse balayage and depth techniques totally swoon worthy. Audrey Inskeep began her career in Boise, Idaho in 2002; however, it wasn’t until 2008 that her passion for balayage began. After discovering her love for beach-inspired hair, she spent the following decade honing her knowledge and skill set to master the techniques needed to produce natural, sun-kissed tresses. In 2016, Audrey began her education career with the Business of Balayage. The following year she joined House of Collaboration as an independent educator.
Audrey is currently the owner of Salt + Sage Hair Studio in Salt Lake City, Utah and spends her time either behind the chair or traveling the country teaching.

Last but not least we were in awe of the ins and outs of beautiful works of art Kelly Naso creates using her favorite foil balayage and babylight techniques. Kelly has spent her career investing in education and used her knowledge to set herself apart as a blonding and balayage specialist. She’s currently a stylist at Gold and Braid in Mission Viejo, CA and has spent the last year as a Cosmoprof artistic team member.

Make sure you get on the list for our Next Balayage Summit and stay tuned for dates and locations !!
